The Inspiration
I‘m a surfer so the inspiration for this website design is something I see when ever I’m in a surf shop. Usually surf ing websites have a really laid back “all over the place” design littered with sponsors. I wanted to design something without all of the sponsors and a little more ultra modern.
The Technique
For this design, my intention was to create something extremely clean with very clear pictures to supplement the clean design. Because this design was solely a design concept, I created my own graphics in Adobe Illustrator. The vector-based illustrations clearly communicate the usability of the product without the distracting detail a photograph would present.
The Details
There were two details that made this design what it was. One of them being the use of the font PRINTF-Regular juxtapose against a clean design. It gave it the “surfer edgy-ness” credibility. The other was the fin in the logo. This indicated to the viewer that this website wasn’t about ocean waves, but about surfing waves.
