The Inspiration
I have always been inspired by the photographer Neil Krug. He captures very plain but beautifully framed images and enhances them to create surreal images. I wanted to create posters for an exhibit that portrays surreal photography like Neil Krug’s work.
The Technique
I wanted these posters to give some samples of surreal photography that would entice the viewer to want to go to the exhibit. I used surreal photography that I had created myself and cut out white areas to display the museum gallery’s information.
The Details
On the physical posters, I used a semi-textured matte paper to enhance the texture of the photos. I then overlaid a semi-opaque, thin paper over the matte paper to create two layers. The semi-opaque layer was only bound at the top of the poster so you are able to really see the double layer effect along with the two textures.
